Overview  The 15th century Italian Renaissance art is characterized specifically by the rebirth of literature, art, as well as philosophy. The most common literature inspired art around this century was Ovid’s Metamorphoses, which is a poem consisting of 15 books that was written in latin 8 C.E. about different mythological stories and many Greek legends about the creation of the universe and death. Many artists from the 15th to the 17th century used this literature to spark creativity through their art and to tell a story. One of my favorite masterpieces from the 15th century Italian renaissance is the “Fall of the Giants” created by Giulio Romano from 1532-1534. This is one beautiful architectural fresco piece created in the City of Mantua, Italy in the Palazzo del Tè where the walls and ceiling are hand painted to look like a mythological apocalyptic catastrophe.  "Fall of the Giants"   Painted by Giulio Romano from 1532 - 1534 The Reformation and Reinvention Era The Rein

This week I decided to review one of my favorite paintings made by Van Gogh, which is "Starry Night Over the Rhone". This piece of art was made in late September of 1888 in Arles, France, but more specifically it was painted by the riverbank of the Rhone river. At first glance of this piece of art I instantly felt so calm and relaxed. The color scheme and the impasto technique where you can see every line I absolutely love. For me, I just imagine myself there in the scenery looking at the reflection of the night sky as it hits the river, followed by the light glowing from the town in the distance, it all just looks so peaceful.
